Pediatric occupational therapists work with children and their families to promote functional independence in all their "occupations" - and for children, their occupations are activities that enable them to learn and develop life skills, be creative and play, and thrive in their relationships with others. Therefore, occupational therapists work with children who are having difficulty mastering one or many of their occupations.

If you think your child could benefit from occupational therapy, the first step you should take is getting a referral from your child's pediatrician. This referral can then be sent to our office, where we will reach out to you and schedule an evaluation. You may also call our office and we are happy to provide insight into whether or not we feel your child could benefit from our services.
Once your child is evaluated by our pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will receive a comprehensive report within the first month of the evaluation. This report will include the evaluation findings, summary of all pertinent medical and developmental history, goal areas, and the plan of care. We also send a copy of this report to your child's primary care physician to ensure there is effective communication. From there, you will receive an updated plan of care every three months. We do all we can to ensure we have a thorough understanding of your child and both their strengths and areas of difficulty.
Connecting Kidz is an out of network provider. We use a comprehensive approach to work together with you and your family to individualize the services and decide the best course of treatment. For example, this includes things like specific intervention programs, educational programs, enhancement activities, access for email/text support, coaching calls, consultation, problem solving, home programming and more.
